The Spud Gun

Today we made spud guns. Also known potato as guns. They were a lot of fun to make but mine did not work very well. They are difficult to make but it is very easy to follow the instructions. What you have to do get a potato and stab a straw into it both ends of the straw should gave potato in them. Then you get a skewer and push the flat end into the potato and soon the other bit of potato will go flying because of the air in between is forcing it. They were a lot of fun and I'm glad we did them.

Cubes

These are the cubes I made in math. They weren't too hard. I call them my gambling dice. They are fun and easy to make. There were also other shapes that we could make such as triangles and other three-d shapes. We were trying to make three-d shapes and as you can see I made two cubes. We were learning to understand and make three-d shapes and learning about vertices, sides, faces, edges and corners.

My Beak Experiment

During class we did a science experiment. It was about learning about beaks and which beak works better for which food. The food we had were gummy worms acting as worms from your back yard and skittles acting as berries from bushes. After we ate all the skittles and gummy worms. With the gummy worms it was easy with both flat ends and pointy ends. With the skittles it was easy using the flat ends. I thought it was a fun experiment and I would love to do it again.

St Peters Orchestra

Today St Peter's College orchestra came here to Good Shepherd and played music for us. Firstly they started with the stringed instruments and I thought they sounded beautiful. Then they moved onto brass and that was my favourite. They played the Pink Panther theme tune which I love. Next year at Marist I think I will want to play the saxophone although I do love the cello.

My Saints Poster

This is my saint poster. It is about St Elizabeth. We were searching up what the saints did for us and what their miracles. I like St Elizabeth because she had to be very brave because of how she lost her son whist she was still alive.

Athletics Day

Today was athletics day and I was competing with the 10 year old girls. There are 5 different activities they are running, long jump, high jump, discus and shot put. I came 3rd in shot put which was quite good considering that I had just had a broken arm and still needed to build up the strength in it.  It was so much fun but sadly it was my last athletics at Good Shepherd. The races were hard but I came third and second in the heats which was good.
